Charge It Radio

Local News & Radio Show

This Week's Show

In this weeks show we give you a surprise interview with one of the loudest in the music scene right now.

We're sure many of you will of heard of him, especially as he's recently been hitting the official charts with his latest releases.

Listen to this weeks show to find out who we're talking about down below.

We'll be talking about the culture in Brixton being it originally made up of predominantly black working class people, and how this has influenced the culture. Brixton is the capital of Afro-Caribbean culture in Britain after the Black Atlantic Windrush generation arrived (A person of any nationality who arrived in the Uk before 31 December 1988). This Afro-Caribbean culture can be seen everywhere, from the many Caribbean food stalls in the Brixton market to the Black Culture Archives on Windrush Square. This culture has also influenced the music that is produced in Brixton, you can hear us talk about how in this weeks show.

We've also got another interview with a knife crime victim to bring awareness to it. But to lighten the mood we have some comical stories for you including one about a women selling her street food, but concealing dr*gs in it.

On top of this we give you the biggest  and most popular local music tracks around, just to make your day a little bit better.

The Latest News

Coming up in next weeks podcast we're going to be  listening to these three street performers which are shown below.  If you live in Brixton you've probable stepped foot down Coldharbour Lane. If you have, you will of most likely heard of these local street freestylers, and if you haven't heard of them then you can't of missed the huge group of people surrounding them.

They take up the street performing to early 2000's beats of popular songs.  Part of their act is that they often ask the audience for words to use in their rap freestyles, and they have to take the first words that are said. However no matter the words they never fail to impress and leave the audience stunned.

To the right are two clips sent in from a member of the public who managed to catch theses performers in action.
